Here is the "recipe" for the wipes that Mary made for Barnyard Bash this year. You can use either regular paper towels, or the blue shop paper towels for use in the garage.

Cut the paper towel roll in half and put the cut side down in the container. We found that plastic Folgers coffee cans work very well. The handle indents don't interfere with the roll. Cut an "X" in the lid to feed the wipes through.

1 tbsp Baby wash or baby shampoo
1 tbsp Baby oil or Olive oil
2 cups boiled water (supposed to keep the wipes from molding if you boil the water)

If going in a garage 1/2 tbsp of rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer is supposed to make your hands come clean easier.

Letting the wipes soak for about 10 minutes, then flipping and soaking for another 10 minutes loosens up the cardboard tube, so it can be removed without destroying the roll.

If the wipes dry out, just add a bit more water.

Maybe I should try it before I ask a question, but wouldn't paper towels get soggy and break? But that's how I buy my coffee, so I have a few. Gotta try it soon!

I tried both the reg. paper towel and the blue shop towel models, at the Bash. The white ones were great for wiping the baby's face but in the shop, the blue ones are really good. I'm going to make up some of these!

one or two more pictures of the cutting process and installing in the can would be nice for us dummies who are not good at taking directions but can follow along with pictures. Roy would never figure this out.

Gee Billy Ray, even I can visualize cutting a roll of paper cut in half and opening a coffee can to put something in it!

What I'm having a problem is this part of the recipe;
"1 tbsp Baby oil or Olive oil"
Just how the heck do you extract that oil from a baby?

In all seriousness though, they work great in the shop. They are also terrific for wiping barbecue sauce off your chin after eating that pork at the Bash if you don't happen to have a shirt sleeve handy.

I can't believe I'm defending Billy Ray but ........... there are two ways to cut a roll in half.

I was quite confused until I figured out you meant the one that makes two rolls the same diameter as the original and half as tall and not two rolls as tall as the original and half mooned shaped.

We have a roll paper towel dispenser at work that when you refill it you have to rip the cardboard tube out of the roll and feed the inside towel through the hole to get it started. I would think that this would work best for this idea as well.
