Center tap flatten rivets:
Size your rivets and drill bit, also black tape the depth (length of rivet):
Drill your hole:
Clean off both plates with wire wheels:
Flatten plates accordingly:
Use door trim glue, spread evenly:
I had difficulty with the door trim glue so I used this, and it worked much better:
Clamp them together (orignal plate, and new plate purchased off ebay or elsewhere) Let set 24 hrs or more:
Tape off plate excluding the numbers. To prevent unneeded cleaning:
Spray paint with black paint:
Varnish the final product after removing the paint with a light sand paper or emory cloth to remove excess paint. The numbers should be highlighted by the black paint:
The final product should look like this prior to mounting:
Use a flat head punch to tap in rivets:
All done
What do you think, pretty simple steps to follow?
