Making 23-A Rear Gang Set

Postby Stanton » Thu Sep 08, 2011 6:55 am

My 23-A disc harrow didn't have the rear gang set when I bought it last year. So, with some help, I received the dimensions and fabricated the set.

Don't have a torch, so fired up the grill...

Then, got out my hammer, vise and welding gloves...

Added the bar stock (1/4" x 1-1/2")...

Waited about 5-10 minutes and put it in the vise. Hammered one way...

Then the other...

Dipped it in a bucket of water, dried it off, and downstairs to the shop for measuring, drilling and fitting...

All complete and assembled on the disc...

Still need to get the stabilizing bar on the rear set, but that'll have to wait 'til later.

Here are the dimensions for the gang bar and clevis set:

Hope this helps.
