OK, I have galvanized sheet metal for anode. Before I cut it up, anyone know if it will work as well as non galvanized metal? Amy fumes to be worried about?

Sent all big parts out for powder coating, but still have little stuff to do.

:o I have never tried galvanized for an anode. I personally would never use it as it has caustic matter in it. Thats why it is not to be welded because the fumes emitted are deadly from what I have heard from Pro welders.

Think I answered my own question. From Google,"This is highly risky. Galvanized metal can introduce zinc into the solution. If you have used lye, it will attack aluminum. You may have problems with electrical shorts,"

Thanks Johnbron
Think I'll stick to stainless of reg. steel.
