Cover for back of dash/instrument Cluster

Postby Hairy Moose Knuckles » Wed Apr 18, 2018 3:53 pm

On one of the forums someone mentioned a cover for the back of the dash. Here is what mine looks like. It's a home made job, but works nicely. I also have one on my toolbox opening beneath the seat.

My tractor is a super c, but I think I was reading the question here on the A forum.

Perhaps it will give you ideas.

That is definitely homemade and nothing like that was originally on the tractor. Originally, you had a battery box (1 or 2 piece with a lid) that secured the battery and essentially covered up the back of the "dash"

Good idea...I might try that. The Super A I am working on doesn't have a box and the back of the dash is filled with mud.....but it still works. Since this thing is going to be outside 100% of the time I will probably look to do something like that.

The Super A needs the battery box to brace the instrument panel. Inadequate bracing messes up the speed and hydraulic settings. I'm not sure it is as critical on the Super C.

Even for that, It also keeps stress off the instrument panel and keeps from breaking it; and it keeps battery safe and secure which is very important. Yes, the battery box is a minor structural part of the tractor. New replacements or used originals are available

You are right there...there is some sway to the vertical while driving so the TC is constantly adjusting itself...I don't know if the guy wants to spring for the box.
