Plow conversion to fast hitch?

Postby id_birdhntr » Wed Nov 13, 2019 1:08 pm

I have a set of plows that have the drawbar setup but now I have converted my 140 to the fasthitch. I was hoping to turn one of them into a fast hitch setup like the 194 but wasn't sure if this was even possible. If I could find the 194 fast hitch arm that has a broken plow i could just bolt on one of these plows on or maybe other options?

In my experience, if you try to adapt one to FH, it'll never be "right" again. The FH plows are out there, I would hold out for one. (Remember 100-140 FH plows are different than the Cub version!)

From the image I see those plows look like they are the A-189 1 bottom 2 way plows. If I had the right rockershaft to use them I'd much rather them than even having a fast hitch single bottom. You could probably sell them and get more than what it would cost to buy a A-194. But me personally if you have the rockershaft that can lift each independently then I'd keep them and just buy a fast hitch plow. I'd have to even get a 2nd SA-140 to just keep those plows set up on and have 2nd tractor w/ fast hitch for other implements. I really like the idea of just going down the row turning and raise 1 plow, drop the 2nd and running right back the row plowing. Right now I either have to drive back to one end of field not plowing or make 2 running rows and then where they meet is either a ditch or a raised bed in the middle of my fields. I have the A-295A slat wing 2 bottom super chief plows atm.
