130 low on coolant

Postby inairam » Sun Nov 22, 2020 7:34 pm

I have a 130 with an ih 1000 loader on it. I have had it for about a year. When I first got it I had to drain the radiator to do some work and refilled it with fresh coolant and the new thermostat

Lately ( month or two) it has been spitting out some coolant out the overflow. On Saturday I ran it for several hours it really was hissing at times. It was 1 -1/2 gallons low

I do not see anything in the oil and no white smoke in the exhaust

Any suggestions? Water pump going?

I found the problem it was the water pump. I thought I replaced it when I got it but I just bought it and never put it in. The leaking got worse and I could see it.

Just as I got the new water pump in I was putting on the tensener arm for the generator and I cracked the pump housing. Bolt was too long - PO.
I took the pump off and took the back off the old pump and made a new /old pump. Seemed to work. Will see how long it lasts.
