Carborator stud size

Postby inairam » Tue Oct 19, 2021 6:05 am

I am missing the mounting studs on a 130/ 140 zenith cab. The parts manual I have has a 50705D as the part number for gas which does not really help It is 5/16-24 for the nut but it does not give the thread for the carb.

What is the thread for the carb?
Or a newer part number?
Napa Part Number?

Thank you

I would check your local hardware store or auto parts store first. Unless you really need 4.

I get Cub carb studs from NAPA and they come in a Dorman box.

I have a couple of carbs and it is $7 for 4. The way inventories are right now I could get to the store and they will have 1 or none.

Are you SURE your carb is supposed to have studs rather than machine screws with nuts? I mistakenly thought my SA carb was supposed to have studs like the cub, so installed some. When I went to put it on the tractor, there wasn't enough clearance to install it! I had to pull them back off and use screws. I checked the parts manual, and it calls for 5/16"-18 x 7/8" hex cap screw. Not sure if the 140 would be the same, though.
