H-4 MAGNETOS

Postby Dan England » Sun Jul 02, 2006 8:44 pm

While checking my parts manuals, I see that both Super-A and H tractors use the H-4 magneto. The one for the SA is listed as International Type H-4 (Special) while the listing for the H is International Type H-4. Should each type work well on the Super-A or are the differences great enough that the one for the H will not function properly if placed on an SA. Thanks, Dan

I believe the H-4 magnetoes for the H and Super A are absolutely identical. The "special" notation on your parts book is because standard equipment at the time that book was published was battery ignition, thus a magneto would have been special equipment.
