A friend of mine just got a 1941 "A" and we picked up a exhaust lift system . We need some info ,picks and a place for parts for the lift.

He wants to use it to help lift a snowplow this next winter . Any thoughts on this topic would help . We thought it would be neat to get it working seeing as how you never see a working system . :?: :?:

Your best bet for parts will be one of the tractor shows, such as RPRU.

I do have a manual scanned I can email you if you like. 12 pages

I have a working exahst lift on our 45 BN Except the levers and the uderbelly lift bar.
How much of it do you have. I took some pictures of one on a A for reference.
Here is a picture of what I have.
There is a gasket on the bottom of th cylinder . I would replace the leather seal inside it was pricey $90 bucks. However it wont work right ,hold the lift without a good one. I though mine was OK but drifted down. New seat holds well..

After Ceramic coated

Here is the tractor with the lift parts that I have on.

Pretty well versed now after going through, making and repairing some parts and talking to several members on this subjct

I came accross a hole complete system for the back of a "A" but it needs all new seals and leather bladder. I'm told there is a gentlemen named Gean or something on Yesterdays tractor that reproduces the bladder for $30.00 .

I bought the system for a friend who is in the process of restoring a 1941 "A" and we thought it would be neat to get it working seeing as how you never see them. If you have anyother info or input on these we sure could use it and yours looks great very nice .

Email me direct if you want . http://www.jrracing@wowway.com

If I remember right, my brother in law has an A with a working exhaust lift system. I'll contact him to find out and if he does, I'll try to get him to reply to this post. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about it because he explained it all to me how it works - did I remember? No. All I remember is that he said it uses the exhaust gas to power the lift.
