Did the A tractor ever have hydraulics and if so, does anyone know where one could purchase a hyraulics setup.

I don't believe the "A" ever had hydraulics, but the "Super A'" did. Try the sponsor's listed on the home page. At least one of them, JP Tractor Salvage, has parts for other models than just the Farmall Cub's.

As Paul stated, the "Super A" had the option. The only lift assist I know of for the earlier A's was the exhaust lift, that used pressure from the manifold to power it.

There was someone on the Forum that was "adding" a system to an early A using a bolt-on unit. Here's the link to his earlier post:

Maybe he'll chime in and give you an update to his project.

The A used exhaust lift or hand lift. Set up for a Super A will not fit, there is no place on the torque tube to mount the unit, and I don't think an opening on the motor for the pump.

Thanks Guys. I thought maybe the A never had hydraulics. I will try to find a lifting system and install that. Again Thanks.

Seems like I remember some of the earlier Ford tractors had a power steering pump attached to the generator. Someone on the YT Ford forum could tell you for sure. Of course you would still need a reservoir.
