A or Super A?

Postby awander » Sat Jun 27, 2009 10:13 pm

A friend has an older Farmall that she thinks is an A. I have looked at it(but not too closely) and it has hydraulics(left & right side separately moveble).

It also has a rectangular instrument panel that looks like it forms one end of the battery box.

I suspect it is a Super A. Am I right?

Also, she recently bought a new 12V battery to replace the dead one. Would this tractor have originally been 6V? Did they make A's or Super A's in 12V?

(edited my spelling and grammar mistakes)

She has a Super-A. The only difference is the "A" had manual lifts.

What about the instrument panerl? I have seen pics of "A"'s with a small oval instrument panel-I think they were A's anyway.

Yeah, the instrument panels were different, along with a lot of other details.

All the Super A's were originally 6 volt.

Thanks, guys, That;s what I thought, but I gotta' say, it is not as easy to find info about the "A"'s as it is for the Cubs-thanks to this fine website!
