Terry,
I believe that you'll find that the ones from Tractor Supply are painted, as opposed to galvanized. I'd opt for a galvanized one from CaseIH if I were you.

Re: SA Mufler
Looking at it again I see another one, 48831DB, that is available. Any idea why there are two of them?

Re: SA Mufler
Looks to me like 48831DB is the part number of the muffler attachment (muffler plus clamp). The only number available is probably 360729R91.

Re: SA Mufler
These are the two available from IH. The muffler I have now has the same inlet / outlet size. I like the way it sounds. My question is how different does the muffler with the smaller outlet sound? Would I be disappointed with it compared to what I have now?
# 360720R91......
This muffler has a small outlet pipe and is an exact copy of the old muffler IH had in the 1940-50's
# 360720R92.....
this has the same size pipe inlet and outlets

Re: SA Mufler
Song - the larger diameter outlet pipe has a deeper "throatier" sound when comared to the smaller outlet pipe.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Re: SA Mufler
The primary storage area for my 140 has a so-called 7' door that is overhead when open. The standard muffler is too tall to fit. So I bought a stubby glass-pack blank (no pipes on it) from JC Whitney and welded end pipe stubs on it to fit the 140. It now clears but is really loud. And I have to duck my head when going in or out on the tractor.

Re: SA Mufler
I just had a new exhaust pipe made for mine, and purchased a new muffler from farmallparts.com They also sell the exhaust pipe, but we can make them here at work. I know for a fact that mine larger and I like it. The quieter the better in my opinion.
I had to be careful in getting a new pipe since it could not be too tall. It had to be tall enough to get the muffler over the hood, but short enough to let me get the tractor in the garage. I have found a happy medium and am happy with it.

Re: SA Mufler
I'm pretty sure they are the same length. The size difference is the outlet diameter only, I think.
I'm going to get on or the other. Just wanted to know if the smaller outlet was like crap or something

Re: SA Mufler
Song,
Contact Mark's Tractors. He advertises in Red Power. He sells reproduction A/B/C/H/M mufflers and has the correct one for the Super A. They are made from the original IH blueprints and look exactly like the originals except the IH is not stamped on them. They have the correct outlet size, not the 2" outlet as found at caseIH and everywhere else on the planet! They're about $80 but worth the money IMO because they look and sound right. They're made in the USA and the quality is excellent.
I got lucky and found a genuine NOS one for my Super A. I love the look and most importantly the sound, it's nice to hear the correct C-113 sound!

Re: SA Mufler
I have the 2 inch outlet I love the sound it makes. I guess I've never heard the right sized one.
