I was wondering if anyone could comment on this differential shaft; is this gear that drives the bull gear worn quite a bit or is this the way they should look? I thought this gear was worn so I bought a replacement take-off and it looks the same. So now I'm trying to decide if I have two worn gears or two good gears. I rebuild windmills that have a similar small gear driving a bull gear and when the small gear teeth mating surface get looking like this and pointy, that's when they're wore out. When you have a small gear driving a big gear, the small gear will wear out first.

I agree with mmo the gear still has the flat on top of each gear and look ok to use . May have some wear but that is normal.
Good luck with the either shaft.
Good luck with the either shaft.
