I need information on how to take the spindle out of the fan hub on my Farmall A. I have it off the braket that secures it to the tractor but am unsure how to get the rest apart. All and any suggestions are needed. :?: Thanks, Randy

you have to take the blade off, under there is a nut that has to be removed. keep a mental note of the oil slinger direction, that is the only difficulty in there.

Thanks Phillip, I had planed on replacing the assembly but after I took it apart I found I did not need to. It was full of grease and there was a little end movement, but otherwise seemed tight. Thanks again, Randy

Clean the grease out and oil it per the Owner's Manual. I don't think that grease in there will ever get to where it needs to be.

Hi Jim, Thanks for responding. There is a grease fitting opposite of the oil fill plug. When that compartment gets full of grease it forces itself down the length of the shaft and comes out the other end. I think it may work this way. Thanks for your suggestion. Randy

Fitting probably installed by a previous owner.
