HELP!! what hydro pump do i have????

Postby Olred » Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:46 pm

so i am working on rebuilding my Touch Control pump on my 1953 Farmall Super A. So i called up my local Case/IH dealer and they said take the pump off and bring it in because there are 2 different pumps, but they have most of the parts for both....ok. fast forward i take off work and my buddy and i drive the 34 miles to get there and they cant match it to anything but they assure me it is a IH pump but dont know if its a whooser, cessna, ect they rattled off like 5 different pump names(what happened to the two?). so they ordered the 2 seals they did not have in stock so i will have to drive back because we are reduced to measuring the shaft and the inner diameter of the seal  so i figured id post it up here and see what yall thought

the two numbers on the side of the pump body are
P24EZ52R04
383013R84

and here are some pictures of the pump

You misread part of the IH part number. It is 383013R94. It is a Wooster pump. This is a later pump, not installed at the factory. There were 2 different pumps installed at the factory, this isn't either of them. The guy at the parts counter should have been able to find it in the 100, 130 or 140 parts catalogs.

thanks for the reply, I bet he misread the number as well, he had to use a magnifying glass and the 9 was not easy to read

Except if he knows how IH part numbers work, he would know 8 would be highly unlikely there.

Jim Becker,
I have the 383013R94 Wooster pump.
I bought it used to replace a worn out 360687R91 pump on my 130.
Started cleaning it up to paint today when I thought I should try to put it on the tractor first to see how it would fit.

It does not fit!!!!

Almost fits. Looks like I would have to use the die grinder to take a bit of meat off the 130 just above it under the dist. Only need about 1/16".

Everything I looked up before buying said it would fit.

What to do????
Just Do It !

I bought one of these pumps that was on a C, hoping to use it on my SA.
What Farmall tractors will this pump fit?
I've searched the internet and it's mostly found advertised as a power steering pump.

Thanks Mike,
Jim said these Wooster pumps weren't put on at the factory but they have an IH number stamped on them. Do you know if they were sold by IH as replacements?
Did it fit the SA without interference, in the post above he said it needed some grinding to make it fit.

I didn't have any issue with mine. I just put it in and everything lined up, no modification required.

I know this is an old thread; but what ever came of your Wooster pump rebuild? Did you find the correct parts needed? I have a kit for the Pesco and Thompson pumps and didn't know if any of the internal o-rings, seals, and other serviceable parts would interchange with a Pesco or Thompson pump. If not, I need to get the names and sizes of the internal parts so I can order them from McMaster Carr. Haven't taken it apart yet, but I'm guessing a couple of square cross-section o-rings, some standard o-rings, maybe some felt washers, and rubber pin seals. If I can find compatible parts, I'm going to order extras to have on hand in the future! There isn't much info on the internet about these model pumps, and we need more info which is why I'm posting here on this old thread.

My Wooster pump is from a Farmall 140 and has these numbers :
P24EZ5G2R01
383014R91

In case anyone is interested...I think I will purchase a rebuild kit from Case/IH for the Wooster Pump to rebuild the one I have. I will be sure to take pictures of all of the parts the kit comes with and will compare those parts to the ones for the Thompson and Pesco pumps. I am hoping there are some similar parts and stuff I can buy from McMaster.
