You guys probably already know these new part numbers, and maybe there is a location to post them...certainly would like to find that if so! The page and ref # are from the SA Parts Book from Binders:

Rear Axle Oil Seal pg.172/#26 OLD: #43283D NEW: #71697C1
Belt Pulley Shaft Oil Seal pg. 268/#49 OLD: #48954D NEW: #71700C1
PTO Drive Housing Gasket pg. 268/#28 OLD: #60589DA NEW: #1342405C1

I'm pretty sure that there was a cross reference page for the cub for things like bearings...is there one for the SA? Can most bearings be purchase from NAPA or the like?

I have 2 different thicknesses of gasket material. I'm having trouble finding a few gaskets:

PTO Belt Pulley Bearing Cage Gasket pg. 270/#47 #47283D
Diff. Shaft Bearing Cover Gasket pg. 173/#2 #48009DA
Rear Axle Bearing Retainer Gasket pg. 174/#28 #48009DA
X-miss. Case Cover Gasket pg. 167/#15 #47279DA

If I cannot find them, can I use the gasket material as long as it is approximately the same thickness and material? i.e. are the various "paper" gasket materials unique?

Take the IH numbers to Napa or wherever, they may be able to cross reference them. Also give Clapp Bros. in Siler City a call. They're probably the closest caseIH dealer to you. Most everything you need is readily available from caseIH.

Yes, I think I should buy stock in Clapp Bros, I have spent so much money there, between the Cub last year and now the Super A!! They just provided 3 of the last gaskets I needed. Also, in Siler City...a new Tractor Supply Co...looks like I need to visit Siler City in the near future!

"Super A", I assume you have a Super A, right? If so, have you ever rebuilt the touch control? I have torn apart the PTO, Steering housing, and have just removed the touch control, with thoughts of rebuilding it. Or I may just use the one from the parts SA which i know functioned. Let me know your opinion. Anyone else, please chime in, too!

I have never done a Super A. Did a Cub Touch Control once. My honest opinion is if it does not leak, and if it will lift stuff like it's supposed to without a lot of "burping," I would leave it alone.

Sounds good...I think I have enough to do for now...I can always rebuild one of the ones I will not use, "just for fun", later on. Then if the one I DO use is leaking, I can just swap it out.
