I drove past that farm a thousand times and just the other day a saw an old red tractor sitting in the field. It looked like a Cub from that far away. On the way home I stopped and ask the gentleman if the tractor was for sale. It turned out to be a Farmall C. He said he was mowing with it last fall and it locked up one of the wheels so he shut it off and let it sit. He said he paid $ 1500.00 for it last year but would take $ 900.00. I offer him $ 500.00 and told him I would get it out of the field. He said deal! With a new battery, a short piece of fuel line and a quick fix on the brake band I drove it a mile home. It runs great and everything works. Now Edna (my Cub) has a big brother I named “Ed”. Now the hard part will be explaining the new tractor sitting in the back yard to my wife when she returns from a business trip tomorrow.

Tis always easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission! With all THAT size and power, you aren't going to want to get on the cub again!!

If she gives you too much trouble over it just tell her I will give you the $500 you have invested in it and can pick it up right away.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Re: My new toy
I told the wife about the tractor when she got home. She took it Ok when I told her it was half hers. The part that made her MAD was went I asked her to pay for half of the new fender costs.
