Super A oil panWill an oil pan from an "A" fit on a Super A? Did any Super A's come with an oil pan dip stick? Thanks, John
Re: Super A oil panPretty sure any will fit. The early Super A used a pipe plug for the oil pan drain, exactly like the straight A. Later Super A's used a hex head plug with a washer. That should be the only difference. I think there's a serial number break for the newer plug/pan but would have to look it up.

Re: Super A oil panpan will fit, no prob
no dipstick on a super A, but an allis C circa 1941 had a dipstick, as did an oliver 60. both had spin on oil filters, ahead of their time. 'If they're tappin', they're not burnin'

Re: Super A oil panMust have. My oil pan has the two petcock holes, but they have plugs in them.

Re: Super A oil panWould have to research this but I believe the power units in the 113 size had a dipstick. If you look on the block, the "boss" is there for the dipstick and all you have to do is drill it out. Our 230 has a replacement block from a Super C (no dipstick) and when the mechanic installed it, he just drilled it for the dipstick original to the 230.

Re: Super A oil panOK. Based on your replies, I replaced the super A pan with one from an A this morning and it did fit fine. The old damaged super A pan had a dipstick (in the pan, not the block) and petcocks. The dipstick looked good from the outside but from inside it was pretty obvious that it was a retrofit. FYI I was surprised to learn the local NAPA store had an oil pan gasket in stock. I almost did not ask.>>Thanks a lot for all your advice and help. >>John
