What did the threads look like when they came out? Dry or covered with penetrating oil?

Only one had oil all the way to the end. The others about half way. then dry to the end.

did you chase the threads to clean out any rust of carbon. I am sure you don't want it to happen again.

Yup, chased the threads and used anti-seize.
