SA Final Drive removal

Postby Dale Finch » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:50 pm

It's late and my mind is fuzzy...I know this topic has probably been discussed, because there seems to be something nagging me in the back of my mind. I was about to put the PTO back on the SA today, but thought there MIGHT be a reason to leave it off for the Final Drive removal. Is there any reason I need the PTO off when I remove the Left Final Drive (to swap it out)? Thanks! And good night...will check this in the morning.

no reason to leave it off. it will not interfere with the removal of either final drive. now if you intend to replace the transmission seals while you are in that far, i would not install the pto just because it might be in the way of the removal of the axle tube on the right side.

i have all the seal numbers crossed over from IH to CR / SKF numbers if you need them.
