If you had asked 2 years ago if I would have 3 Cubs and 1 1/2 SA's, I would certainly have had a good laugh!!
So I wouldn't dream to predict how this Cubitis will progress!!!
I DO plan on selling the "new" '55 Cub (may already have a buyer) as well as part out the 2nd SA that is already in pieces (but NOT 'til my '48 is out of the shop and running well!)
I just figured at $1 a gasket and with the shop about 45 minutes from me, I would just go ahead and stock up. I'll bring some with me to Cubfests just in case...

Edit: I can't get the correct link to copy, but it shows them at $2.38. Type in the part # and you'll see it.
I called Messick's today, was real excited when I saw they listed them and a good price. But, alas, they did NOT have them, and after checking several alternate sources she had, she said no go. I couldn't believe NOBODY has replaced these things!

Thanks all for the suggestions!
Ran into that with Messick's before. They have ALL KINDS of goodies listed on the site but when you call....NLA. Is one of my top 5 biggest pet peeves....

Yes, this isn't the first time I have called on a "listed" part....very annoying. Wish they would purge their lists.
Super A, if you happen to be replacing the transmission seal, I now have an extra set of those washers for the flange taper bolts.

Thanks Dale, I'd love to have a set. Both the '50 and the Super A-1 are going to need transmissions opened up.

Today WAS another good day, although I ran out of time to get all the bolts back in, so the full story must wait til tomorrow! It only took 2 of us to push his 2 halves back together, although I did spend a bit of time figuring out where it was hanging up. I will post photos tomorrow (or this weekend since the shop is closed) when I am not so tired.
I can't wait to crank him up and see if first, he runs again! And second, the seal isn't leaking!! The rubber washers fit fine and looked great. This did give me a chance to clean the rest of the clutch housing that I couldn't reach before, so not totally wasted efforts! Thanks for some good brainstorming. Even if problems aren't solved directly on this forum, I find it is a way to organize ideas and come up with new approaches to things....keeps those little grey cells working!!

Dale:
Good show
Kinda neat that you were able to find a local source to produce needed NLA stock. That is good stuff..
Looking forward to the completed post
