Super A Governor Speed Change Lever "Slop

My "new" Super A seems (to me) to have a lot of slop in the speed change lever--the lever that moves when you move the throttle lever. I looked at the parts breakdown and I don't see a bushing or anything, looks like the lever just goes into he housing. I have an extra from an A and it has right much slop as well. I would assume that the lever shouldn't wobble in the housing at all. Has anyone ever run into this? Only thing I can figure is see if a machine shop could bore the housingand press in a bushing, or am I over-thinking this??

Thanks,
Al

i had one like that..replaced it. JP probably

no doubt you could put a bushing in, but in my case the shaft was worn also, so a replacement seemed better

I got it fixed. A fellow on YT bores the housing out and installs a bushing. Haven't installed it yet but looks good.

Any chance you have some photos of the part you are talking about that you could post? Sure would help me figure out what part you are talking about. Or perhaps indicate the part number on the appropriate page of the parts manual. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Part # 46947DAX Governor Speed change lever, with enough wear, "wobbles" in the governor housing, part # 6340DX. There is no bushing, etc. that can be replaced to tighten it back up, it just goes thru a hole in the housing with a seal in it.

I see that this is a semi-old thread, but I would like to know who you got to "rebuild" your governor from YT. We would like to have a few rebuilt by someone who is good on governors so we don't have to worry about it being done right.

Thanks Al. I need to try and give him a call to see what he says. I bet others will appreciate this info as well.

Hope all is well up in NC!
