Super A

Postby farmalldean » Sat Feb 18, 2012 7:51 pm

Where can I ask about an issue with my '50 Super A? It has to do with water (antifreeze) in the oil.

Click on 'board index' at top of page then go to Farmall/IH/Case. In fact moderators will probably move this thread to that location

probably a bad head gasket. most other possibilities get increasingly unlikely. the block if it freezes generally will push out the side, not to the base of the engine, but i've seen F12 motors cracked between "o" rings and between cylinders. and there is not much difference between the two.

i'd start there and see what you've got. but hope it's a simple head gasket

but be sure it's antifreeze in the oil and not just condensation. antifreeze tastes sweet if you touch the end of your tongue. but its not good for you

OK, thanks, I'll check out the Board Index. Oil analysis from Amsoil says it is antifreeze. Maybe need to have the head shaved.
