On To Bigger Things
Scotty,
I've looked at a few but haven't found the right one yet. I'm still looking. Thanks for asking. A good friend of mine recently bought a cub. I'm going to help him get it going and he's going to let me use it. That way I'll be able to have a better idea of how big a tractor I really need. I've used his Massey Ferguson 35 and 165 both are diesel. They are nice tractors and very powerfull, but they are a little too big for what I need.
What are you needing a tractor to do?
"Chance favors the prepared mind."
- Louis Pasteur "In character, in manners, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I need a tractor to do the following:
Cut grass- about 2.5 acres some of which has a fairly steep slope. This will account for about 95% of what I will do with this tractor. Pull saplings; Move vehicles; Pull a trailer (on the property not on the road); Grading of gravel drive ways; Plowing/tilling a vegetable garden; Bush hogging; Dig post holes; Move small logs; I would also like to be able to run a saw for cutting firewood. The tractor that I had in mind when I started this thread was a Super A with a belly mower and an after market cat 1 3point hitch.
A nice 8N Ford would also do the job nicely.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com

8NYep, dad had one, we used it as a woods tractor, which it wasn't perfect for but it sure held up for a long, long time. Still going now, 30 years later.
