140 / IH 274 Cultivator Question

Postby RowCropper » Wed Dec 09, 2015 1:03 pm

This may not be the right forum for a question about an IH 274 -- but hoping to get some input since it's my understanding the IH 274 came after the 140. Does anyone know if the cultivator unit for a Farmall 140 fits the IH 274? Found a manual for the IH 274 that lists the cultivator as a 144T. Any help is appreciated - thanks

The "T" is the difference. I am not precisely sure what the difference is, but they don't interchange according to everyone I've talked to.

I have a 274, but I do not have 140 to check it for you. I would think the bottom wood be the same, but the lift arms could be different.

The ground-working parts I think will be the same. That is, sweeps, shanks, shovels, hillers, etc. The difference I think is the universal mounting frame.
