Priming the oil pump before starting a super A

Postby Wrose2 » Wed Aug 24, 2016 7:34 pm

Do you have to re-prime the oil pump on a super A if it's been sitting for years? I know this needs to be done on the Cubs, but I don't know about the A's? I assume you would, but you know what they say about assuming

The Super A oil pump is located well down into the pan, much lower than a Cub pump. I have never seen a problem getting one to pump oil.

Yeah they prime almost immediatly. I will say if it has been sitting for years, a little oil in each sparkplug hole wouldn't hurt. Just to give the walls a little start-up lube.
