I tried to search this site but havent found what i'm looking for. I was hoping to find some place in NC that may have used Cultivator shanks and wedge clamps. Does anyone know of a place or maybe someone that may have any to sale? I know my mounting bars are 1 1/4 if that helps any
I would like to have 8 if I can find them.
Thanks in advance
Tom

336-548-6744 Smith Brothers farm equipment located in Pine Hall, NC can probably help you.

Re: Cultivator Shanks and wedge clamps
Thanks for the info Chipmaker. I called them and he said he does have some of both.
Ya know, when I jumped in to this adventure, I didnt even consider the cost of Shanks.
Oh well, too late to turn back now

Re: Cultivator Shanks and wedge clamps
Do you know what model your cultivator is? When you say wedge clamps I am assuming it is a 144 with two bars that start out parallel to the direction of travel and then angle outwards. If it has 2 toolbars running perpendicular to the direction of travel it is a different style of clamp and it depends if the toolbar is set square to the ground or as a diamond.

I dont know the model. Im just learning these things the hard way. But they do start out parallel to the direction of travel and then angle outwards. I didnt realize that mattered that much. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Re: Cultivator Shanks and wedge clamps
Sounds like a 144. Those are pretty common and just about all the cultivator stuff you see around is for them. The one with the 2 toolbars perpendicular to the line of travel were for vegetables and/or bean and beet farmers and they are fairly rare.

Chipmaker, I wanted to thank you for the lead on Smith Bros.
I went up today and picked up everything I needed. I have never seen so many parts for farmalls in all my life.
Thanks again
