Where to mount the Touch Control Gauge on a Super A

Postby J-man » Wed Dec 28, 2016 4:27 pm

:lost: Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I recently purchased a 48 super A and replacing broken and missing components. It previously had the touch control temperature gauge on it but the wire was cut and it was missing. I purchased another and ready to install the probe but I cant find where to mount the gauge itself. Can someone share a picture for the correct location or point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

J-Man

The touch control gauge mounts on the top front of quadrant where the touch control hand levers are located. I hope this makes sence to you as I do not have a picture.

It takes a special bracket, that may not be there either.

A 48 would not have had the gauge when new. They're a neat item, but they don't really do much. The only reason the fluid would ever get hot would be if the unit wasn't able to cycle all the way--like if an implement hit the bottom of the tractor before it came all the way up.

Can you post a pic of the bracket? I'm not sure what we're talking about here.

It is the one that the gauge is sitting in, in the picture posted above. It mounts between the TC lever quadrant.

I thought the gauge just mounted between the two sides of the quadrant with no other brackets.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought the gauge mounted inside a bracket but maybe it is made as 1 piece. I think I remember mounting an oil pressure gauge in that spot once.
