Generator Rebuild

Postby CDD » Fri Dec 30, 2016 7:40 am

I am trying to get the pulley off my 12v generator. I have removed the nut and soaked it in WD. Is there something else? Does it require a pulley puller?

They usually come off with light tapping but sometimes they can be tough and require a puller. No on the three screws.

If the pulley doesn't tap off, use a bearing splitter. If really tight the a gear puller will deform the back pulley flange.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Does the bearing splitter go behind the pulley or the fins?
