Need to replace both generator and fan belt on my 130. How does one slacken the fan belt? I cannot get anything on the nut at the back end of the fan shaft. Not enough clearance between the nut and the motor for a socket, nor enough clearance around the nut for an offset box wrench.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ron, if it is like the cub, you turn the shaft, not the nut. Look for 2 flat areas on the shaft or a hex shaped shaft.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

That's true, and I don't know either... but if it's like the H and M, the pulley simply adjusts for width with a big nut on the radiator side. The reason I mention that is that the pulley MAY be attached to a water pump?

Thanks!
Both belts are off! Slacken by turning the spindle.
