Farmall 130 Fan Belt

Need to replace both generator and fan belt on my 130. How does one slacken the fan belt? I cannot get anything on the nut at the back end of the fan shaft. Not enough clearance between the nut and the motor for a socket, nor enough clearance around the nut for an offset box wrench.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ron, if it is like the cub, you turn the shaft, not the nut. Look for 2 flat areas on the shaft or a hex shaped shaft.

That's true, and I don't know either... but if it's like the H and M, the pulley simply adjusts for width with a big nut on the radiator side. The reason I mention that is that the pulley MAY be attached to a water pump?

I checked tmy parts cd, adn it appears to be similar to a cub in that you use a wrench to turn the shaft, with the nut held cpative in a channel bleow the water outlet.

Thanks!

Both belts are off! Slacken by turning the spindle.
THANKS TO ALL WHO RESPONDED!

A through 130 work just like the Cub. Turn the fan shaft to loosen it then slide the fan hub up to tighten the belt. Works the same way if there is a water pump. The 140 uses a single belt around the fan and generator that is tightened by moving the generator.
