Farmall Cub

Oh no I did it again New tractor in the pasture I picked up a industrial 130. 7 miles from the house. It has the square front axle and the foot pedal throttle The only problem with it besides needing new brakes. Is that their was only one rockshaft arm on it and both were all the way out. It was low on hyd fluid I filled it up. Pulled the levers back and wiped out the seals on both piston cylinders Doggone it I wanted to put the 1000 loader I got from JP's on it this weekend.

Here it is sitting beside my std 130. Look at the difference in tire size. The industrial has 11.3x24 and I put 14.9x24 on the 130 for the farm. I know the headlights are wrong and in the wrong spot but I kinda like them there. The grill was black when I got it so I painted it white. Is the industrial 130 supposed to have a black grill?




It has the square front axle and check out the factory support brace on on it. Pretty cool.

Once I put a carb kit in it I am sure it will be my best runner. But it will have its work cut out to be as dependable as my cub

on your first picture I see a sickle mower, one of my neighbours has one like this, but it's been sitting outside for as long as I can remember. Any idea what it's worth ?. I mean I don't really have use for it, but I hate to see it rusting away.

I think I gave $150 for that one. It was a lawn ornament in the yard when I bought the house I am in now 8 years ago. Price wise they tend to for what someone thinks they are worth. Generally I think they go from $150-500 as "lawn art" But perhaps someone else has a better idea of pricing.

This one was all rusted up and partially buried in a flower bed. I pulled it out and freed it up and made a new pittman rod. And made a new tongue out of a 4x4 with ball hitch. Now I use it behind the cub to cut over the side of the creek bank. It is ground driven. Meaning that the wheels on the mower run the sickle bar. And it does need someone to ride on when mowing to get enough weight on the wheels to run the mower.

the guy tells me he also has a brand new set of knives for it. The seat is missing, could some blocks substitute instead of a person riding on it ?
On the other hand, it's not much of a problem to come up with a seat for it, I mean I've seen tractors with captain seats.

Fall is a crazy time around here. Trying to get wood up, and get everything else put away so it's not buried all winter.
I'm anxious for the winter though as I plan to spend time on my own 130. The oil slinger gear broke and has the tranny locked up.
from what I have read on the YT board, guys have removed the gear altogether, or broken off the teeth so it isn't in the way.
That gear is made of pot metal so that should not be a problem. Looks like a big job to get it all the way out.
Got some air tools though so when I do tackle the job it should be a bit easier.

An industrial 130 would have had a white grill unless it was yellow. By the way, installing a 1000 loader with the heavy duty front axle requires modification of the front hanger, which makes it no longer usable on a Cub Lo-Boy.

The weights would work. You would have to get off of the tractor to turn the knives on and off.

The grill looks like it was a replacement so I will probably never know if it was yellow. Thats good to know about the loader I would have been scraching my head trying to figure out why it didn't fit. I almost never sell anything. It will probably go to my nephew when I pass on. So the loader will be on that tractor to stay.

My grandfather used to pull an old horse drawn mower behind his Gibson. He said that if you were cutting anything very heavy at all, you needed the rider for wight on the wheels, it didn't have enough traction otherwise.

Cowboy, that is a SWEET tractor. I actually really like the lights up high like that "modded tractor"... Wonder why IH didn't put them up there to start with? Better visibility of the crops at night with the low lights?

I have no Idea why the stock headlights are so low. Maybe they just started that way with the A and kept on making them that way. After all the Cub lights are mounted high
