I guess it depends on your location, but in this area 1500 to 2000 will buy one complete and in running condition. Those add on roll bars will give a false sense of security. The tractor was not designed for them and the results if it rolls over are frequently a broken tractor and no protection to the operator.

Personally, I wouldn't give more than $300 - $400 for one like that unless I was looking for parts for another tractor.

I would tend to agree with BD on this one. Parts tractor.

Unless you know that it runs (and runs good---no smoke, good compression, etc.), I agree with BigDog and John, no more than $300-$400. Any tractor that "was running when we parked it" and cannot run upon inspection, is a parts tractor at best and a pile of scrap at worse (with prices accordingly). If it can run, that would bring a little more.

The problem is when the owner remembers what he paid for it years ago, or knows the price of similar tractors today and thinks his is comparable. Make him an offer, leave your number and walk away. He'll either call you or not. Either way, you'll not have overpaid.

It appears that it is missing the head and radiator. Those 2 items will be fairly expensive

You're right John. The rest of the engine is probably junk now from getting water through it quite possibly the engine is now cracked too.
