check the little plastic things that fit on the springs real good , they crack and leak, and they are not real expensive , they cause a lot of the problems on the SA - 140 T/Cs

Boss, I will be ordering the complete rebuild kit, including stuff for the pump. Those little plastic things you speak of, should they be in the kit?

They do not come in the kit, they look like little toy bullets sort of

Boss, where exactly are they located? and how many does one usually have to order?

I closed the unit back up until the stuff arrives. Plan to get it done in one session.
Do you know if the piston sleeve seals 350 658 R1 (#6) come with the kit?
Or the piston head seal? 350 657 R1? (#3).

I have a good dealer in Southern Ontario who can usually set things straight on parts, kits, etc......

Thanks for looking in.
This just might be the slowest tractor rebuild ever known. 5 years and counting. Haha

In the position you have it in in the picture, the small plastic pieces are in the next "row' going up and on the outside of the
two side by side actuator valves. They are not in the "overhaul" kit as Boss Hog said.
All "seals" are Orings and the kit comes with enough to relace all the Orings on the earlier and later versions. Note that the
difference in the head GASKETS are specific to the size of the bolt holes. The head bolts size changed sometime. So yes the two Oring part # you posted are included.
There are Orings inside the block that the pistons work on and you have to dig them out and say a few cuss words to get the new ones to fit in the
groves right.here are 3 screen filters that need to be removed and cleaned. One behind the hex head screw ,# 30, and two not shown that are in back of two of the numerous hex head screws inthe inside of the head. All of the hex head screws should be removed and orifices cleaned.
Thats all I can think of right now that isn't covered in the" directions"
Keep everything super clean.
Change that to 4 screens, firgot about the big one, (#1), they call it a strainer

TW,
Thanks for the info.
Although, I am still not too sure about those plastic 'bullets'.
I'm looking at TC-52A parts manual, but for the life of me I don't see them.
#20 is the actuator valve, #14 is the check valve. These plastic things, do they have a part #? Are they #12 & #21?

Cool ED. I'll be watching I have to rebuild my 130 and 100 touch controls.

Thanks for the tips Boss and TWheat. Will the hyd shafts exchange between the 100 and 130? The shafts rusted up on the 130 and I got it it was out of hyd fluid. When I added fluid it it it did not want to move because of rust and when it did it ripped both shaft seals. I would hate to have my 130 down any longer than necessary so if the 100 shafts are fine I would just swap them out and could take time to find parts to redo the 100 unit.

Billy,
Check the cast part number on the body of the 2 units.

My '57 130 has a block number 357 657 R5.
The Date code is 9 28 B it looks to me.

I thought you had already rebuilt a 130 TC unit, no?

Thanks Ed

Nope I've had the rebuild kit for two years now I think. But other projects keep coming up so I haven't really needed to fix the hyd on it.

Are you aware of "the little plastic things that fit on the springs" that Boss is referring to?

I put in my order for the parts today from CASE IH.

I might have to pull the haed back off and see if I can find them, and maybe get a part number.

I imagine things are getting pretty nice up there at the farm.

Billy,
I think all the internal Touch-Control parts are identical between the 100 and 130. If you don't have the parts catalog, you can find it on the Case-IH web site. Very few parts show 2 numbers and most of them list as interchangable. The 100 and 130 use the same book. Makes it easy to check parts between the 2 models.

Correct you are James,

The TC-52A Manual is for both 100 and 130 models.

I got the original manual off Ebay for $20US. It a real gem.

I am curious to see if Billy's blocks have the same part number.

The manual lists only one Block Number #357 657 R5.

I just rebuilt 2 SA TC units and I know what Boss is talking about. 2 are facing outboard when you pull the head off, (they have springs behind them) and two are oppisite with the "bullits" inboard with springs.

# 14 in my book TC 52 B part # 354 057 R2 there are 4 of them
Most of what you need in the waY Of seals come in the kit I think you may have to get some gaskets separate , but if you have a good parts guy he will know what comes in the kit.
I will go one line later tonight and look
