Front axle question

Hello,
Is is pretty common for the Heavy duty style front axle to not be adjustable. The Axle on my 140 is the industrial style with the brace. The axle seems to telescope one piece inside the other, but not the tie rods. What Have I got here? The whole tractor seem very original and has no indications of being messed with. Were there more than 2 styles of front ends available?

if the tie rods have a clamp on them a couple inches in from the outer ends, the bolt has to be completely removed before they will telescope. If they are bent are rusty inside, they will be hard to move.

I went out to look and make sure I was remembering right. I even took some pictures, but could not get them to post. (Probably me trying to hurry so I can go to bed)
The tie-rods are not like my "A" or 130. They do not slip inside of each other, and are not adjustable at all. The ends have been replaced, but the rest of the rod does not look homemade and appear original. The axle looks like it will telescope but I can say for sure as I have not tried yet. Either way it is made up pretty narrow and I would like to widen it out some for stability. Dad's 140 has a round axle like my "A" and is adjustable. I know where I can buy an "A" front end so I may just swap it out sometime. Not a real fan of the square axle.

A mix and match tractor. The center steering arm and inner tie rods look like A or Super A without the heavy axle. I thinlk the lower piece of the grille is home made too.

Thanks to everyone for the help with the axle question. I am not sure what to do. I don't really like the idea of not being able to adjust the width of the axle. It also bugs me some, that it is a " Mix and match tractor". From what I can tell from other research it appears the axle is correct to the tractor. When I started out I was not so sure it had been replaced. So, that is good news. Maybe I will search for some parts to convert it back to original. I guess I would need a steering arm and the correct tie-rods? It is pretty hard to tell what may have happened to this thing in the last 30 plus years. This tractor started it's life as a county owned mowing tractor. It may have received some re-purposed parts from a parts tractor during this time, or the last owner may have replaced some damages or worm pieces when he got it.

On a different note... I pushed some snow with it last week and the front blade worked like a charm. Way better than a snow shovel. From the sound of the weather I may get an second chance to play this week as well.
