Hi, Can you guys tell me what year this tractor is? Is it worth restoring and about how much would it cost? Is it worth anything in present condition? It ran a few years ago. Do you know any restorers in N California?

Here is the link to the pics.

Thanks Stephen

Yep, a 130. Less than 9,200 made. Some more info here: http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/004/6/5/4656-farmall-130.html

Personally,
I'd not bother with it. That looks to be in REALLY bad shape, having sat outside most likely every single day of it's life. EVERY part and piece would need to be disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled. Personally, in that condition it's basically just scrap steel. You would likely spend several thousand dollars just getting it to run correctly.

You would be MUCH better off to spend a couple thousand dollars to find one in already good running condition, then contemplate restoration or refurbishing if you want one to look like new.

Search E-bay for Farmall 130. Two are currently listed.

What's it worth. Since condition is unknown. My guess is it a parts tractor. Value $100 to $200-.

Agree with Gitractorman. Not practical to purchase then pay to restore. Or even purchase and try to restore yourself.

Looking a the pictures, the lichen suggest it has not been used in a long time, and that frame added to it and the bends indicate some abuse. Without more information thna we have so far, scrap price would be max.

Thanks u guys....I hate to send it to scrap metal but looks like that is the best.....getting it to a point even for kids to just play on might take too much work as well...would be cool to have it in a park somewhere for kids to play on..Thanks Again

Yodi, the base weight of that tractor is about 3,000 lbs. With the equipment you may get close to 4,000 lbs. Around here it would bring almost $400.00 scrap. There may be buyers out there looking for a parts tractor. A decent parts tractor will often bring more than scrap price. I would list it in your local Craigslist and other tractor web sites. Since there were only 9,000 made there may be a market for parts. You could put a $800.00 price on it and take the best offer. That way you don't have to haul it away and you may get more than scrap price for it.

We really can't tell a whole lot about the present condition from the pictures. If the engine is stuck, needs major repairs etc, the lower estimates made may be about right. On the other hand, with the plumbing exhaust system, it is less likely that any water has gotten into the engine. It may not be as bad as it appears, depends on how it ran last time it did run.

Bottom line, somebody with familiarity with old tractors, or better yet with this model, could give a much better evaluation looking in person.

Edit:
There are people out there that would get pretty excited over the stainless emblems on the hood/grille.

If it ran just a few years ago like you say, I'd go for the restore. If not, and you decide to part it out; you'll come out better than just selling it for a parts tractor for around $500 or so.

If you want to part it out, I'll give you $200.00 for the hood and grille (nose peice).

If it were close by me, I would buy it. It may be in better condition than it appears , I can see $$$$$ in it. $500 would be a good buy in my opinion.

Do you own it or are you looking to buy it?

Definitely not worth buying to pay to have it restored, unless you are filthy rich and the tractor is something special.

I would buy it to tinker around on. With the inverted snorkel exhaust I bet it's not stuck bad if it's stuck at all.

"Ran a few years ago," usually means it was parked there when Ronald Reagan was President.
