I read with interest the thread on Farmall C tractors on this forum a couple of weeks ago. I'd be interested in hearing any more comments anyone might have on Super C's. I'm interested because I'm considering looking for one to buy this Spring. My intention is a tractor I can attach a rear blade to for plowing snow, and also for spreading and grading piles of dirt, and with more power than my Cub. It seems like Super C was the smallest of the Farmall letter series that had hydraulics capable for running a 2 or 3 pt hitch. While there are other models (200, 230, 240) that would handle this, I like the look, and size, of the Super C.
I've read that the Super C's had a Fasthitch option. Anyone have any experience with it? I think it was Virginia Mike who stated he had an aftermarket 3 point hitch. Can you tell me about that? I've seldom seen a C with a wide front although I've heard it was an option. Are there any specifics to the Super C that I should be aware of when looking for one to buy?
Thanks for any comments.
Paul

I don't know who made the 3 pt. on my C. The arms look like the Ford 8N replacements at Tractor Supply. The left lift arm and top link attachment weld to the IH rear plow lift. The arms bolt to the hitch.
It will lift an 800# roll of hay using both sides of the touch control. The range of lift is limited, but can be adjusted for different implements.
Best,
Mike

Thanks for the reply. Does the 3 pt hitch get it's power off of the tractor's touch control thru mechanical linkage, or does it have a separate hydraulic cylinder (like conventional 3pt hitches) powered from the tractor hydraulic pump thru hydraulic lines?

I have a Super C, wide front and fast hitch, and the fast hitch lifts with one piston, and it's really handy for litfing things, logs, rocks etc. but I wouldn't suggest anything besides just look for the obvious like with the cub. good luck, and they have alot of power, according to the books, they can pull more than an H.
