I picked this 1949 Farmall C up and it came with cultivators. I know nothing about cultivators, so I'm trying to see if anyone here can identify them and give me a rough value of what they're worth. I have no need of them, so I would like to sell them, but a bit of beforehand knowledge would be great. The mounting frame would also go with the cultivators. BTW, the cultivator shanks are a bit worn.
I'm thinking it's a C-244 or a C-254.

Re: Cultivator ID Help
I don't know the kind of cultivators they are, but I had a set of fronts and a part of the rear for my Super C...from Matt K and I ended up not using them. I gave them to a local guy who had an SC for $50 (covered the gas to Matt's) and he couldn't get to my house fast enough. An in tact set is selling up here right now for $400 which is a good deal because they usually go for $500-$600.
The SC is hard enough to get up on and the rods connecting the rears made it even more difficult.

Thanks, I was thinking I saw a set for $500, but you know the old adage - that's what they're asking for it, not necessary what they're bringing. I was thinking around the $300 range, so if I ask $350-$400 I might get that when I get talked down. I really don't need them, as you said, they're sort in the way when they're on the tractor. I'll be taking them off soon.

Re: Cultivator ID Help
There is a good chance that it has been with the tractor all along. Since the C-244 was built in '48 and '49 while the C-254 was built from '50 on, it is likely to be a C-244.
I have not been able to tell the difference between them. It appears that the C-244 rear section clamped directly to the axles while the C-254 bolted to the standard axle clamps. The fronts may be identical and it appears you have no rear section. So the question may not have an answer.
