Aftermarket WFE for Super C ??

Postby CubitisNH » Wed May 30, 2007 9:12 pm

Wondering if anyone on this forum has a picture of a Schwartz wide front end on a C or Super C? A friend recently bought a '50 C with what appears to be a Schwartz on it, but a previous "backyard engineer" had also mounted a GM power steering box and pump with linkage to tie-rods behind the axle. I need to see -hopefully- an original pic or a shot of this WFE with tie-rods out front to get an idea of what might be missing.
Thanks in advance for any help, Mike

Didn't know swartz made an aftermarket wide front that fit a C. All the Wide fronts I've seen are IH. Possible it could be modified off an M or H?

I compared it to the Schwartz on my 400--front mount is the same width on both, the 400 has an additional mount to bottom of frame rails.

I've seen a Schwartz wide front on a C/Super C at one time. The tierods are supposed to be in the back. Only the factory front end has them out front.

Schwartz wide fronts are alot better than IH ones. They turn sharper, plus with the tie rods in the rear, you don't damage them running into things.
