Whew, just got done mowing 20 acres with a Super C I just bought and a MD 25V mower. Pretty impressed with the C.
My Father in law's ol 1950 Deere B gave up the ghost right when I needed it, so I thought I'd better get another one while it was in the shop. Up to this point I've been a Deere only owner (the big tractor is a Deere too...), but I gotta say with two days in the saddle, this Farmall is not a bad machine.
I bought the Super C on Friday and put it to work right away(Well almost right away, who knew the cutoff switch on a 50 y/o tractor acutally worked. I found that little bit on info out after a battery and a half...). I had eight hours of hay cutting on it by Saturday evening. I gotta tell you, the darn thing worked like a charm. I was really impressed with how easy it steered and how the pan seat felt. I've heard horror stories about those seats, but after getting bounced around in a hard mounted Deere B seat for years, this thing was darn cushy.
It had fresh paint on it, so I think the thing thought that after 55 years it was moving off to a life of leisure....Fraid Not!! It's going to have plenty of chores to do on this raggely ol farm.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Hey Brad,
I began driving our SC when I was 9YO--spent my whole childhood from then to college working that tractor. We had a two-way bottom plow set and using a knob on the steering wheel, I would reach the row end, slap the TC up, twirl the front wheels, hit the right brake, slap the TC down, twirl the front wheels the other way, drop the other plow and never stop at the row end.

Hey Jeff,
Yep found campbells and got the starter. also made a note of other raggely ol pieces of equipment I might need from there in the future (goes with my raggely ol pieces of equipment). I changed out the starter and its been purring right along.
Had to deal with some rust cloggin the sediment bowl, but besides that, Its moving right along. Hoping to mow another 20 acres this week with it.
Good tractor!!
Grandpas had it kinda easy this last week just sitting in the barn while I was away. Sure hope the thing is not getting used to it, I see a week of hard work ahead
