Best way to flush radiator

I was just wondering what you guys think is the best way to flush a radiator? This winter in my C, i drained the "fluid" and got a bunch of rusty/orange gross looking stuff, so i put in some water, then drained that and repeated that a few times, one i filled it up with water, and run it for a min or two, then i drained it back out, and put fresh fluid back in, and now it's really crappy looking again... I was just wonderin what the BEST way to clean it out real good, and that's semi quick... i guess i coiuld just take the radiator off and clean it the long way

Just take the lower hose off and use some sort of reduced nozzle. Any of the chemicals for that purpose will probably damage an old rad like a cub.

A lot of the crap is probably coming out of the block. My thought is to remove the upper and lower radiator hoses then back flush the block and radiator.

The operators manual for the B suggests washing soda as the cleaning agent.

I'd use the procedure in the older Cub Operators Manual. You'll have to adjust the proportions to fit your C's cooling system capacity. Here's the link:

Thanks guys, I guess i'll take the rad hoses off, flush the rad/block a few times, then see ifn I can find that much washing soda

Washing soda not Baking soda. There is a huge difference. Make sure you know what you are buying.

Johnny - the washing soda you are looking for is the same stuff used in the electrolysis tanks. Arm & Hammer Washing Soda - found in the detergent aisle of the super market or Donny's favorite place - Wal Mart.
