Super C clutch detailsWe had to replace the clutch on the Super C. Now that its back together, we're finding the clutch won't engage. It seems like everything is back to normal. Hoping that someone might be able to scan a couple pages from the service manual to see if we did something wrong or maybe we just need to adjust the clutch linkage. Your thoughts are welcome.
Re: Super C clutch detailsDid you install a new pressure plate? Did it come with the 3 bolts that compress the springs and pull the pressure plate back towards the cover? Did you remove the 3 bolts after bolting the pressure plate to the flywheel?
Re: Super C clutch detailsInteresting questions.... I was there to disassemble the tractor and the clutch fingers were broken. The mechanic at the shop tightened down to clutch plate to specs for us. I'll have to ask my brother if the bolts were removed. I guess it makes sense. Thats one way of learning.
Re: Super C clutch detailsif the clutch disk wasn't in contact with the pressure plate and flywheel during the installation of the engine, then the disk would be loose within the pressure plate cavity and make it nearly impossible to line up the spline / pilot bushing. or am i missing something with the bolts you are describing Jim?
so i'm thinking you must be way out of adjustment from trying to adjust the old clutch disk. 'If they're tappin', they're not burnin'

Re: Super C clutch detailsIf there are 2 different plates available do each require different throwout bearings?
