more farmall c issues

Postby Tiller1940 » Sat Jan 02, 2016 9:28 pm

Alright guys hopefully the last post on my C but, I rebuilt the governor with all new parts from Messick's and put it on the tractor wont idle down like its suppose to and I didn't adjust anything and now it races when the throttle is set at an idle, I recently converted it to 12volt and it started giving me issues after I did so. Could the new 12volt coil not be functioning right or would it be a carb issue? Thanks. p.s. I was having issues with it idling down before I rebuilt the governor.

check to make sure the linkages between the governor rockshaft and the carburetor throttle butterfly valve are properly adjusted. It could be adjusted too far open. Check the throttle linkage too.

Thanks havoc1482 for the help the rod from the governor to carb needed adjusting as well as the carb was sticking at full throttle.

The sticking at full throttle is sometimes caused by the carb mounting gasket protruding into the throat a little and causing it to bind.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
