Possible Super C

Postby frjeff » Wed Jun 29, 2016 5:07 pm

The 1953 Super C I am considering has the Fast Hitch, but the owner (some many miles drive away) says it has a 3-point hitch.
Is this possible and if so, what advantages does it give me if I decide to buy and bring it home?

Hope to make the trip to see it up close and personal soon.

Jeff

Its possible that it had a conversion done to the fast-hitch to make it a 3-point. Its pretty common and they typically aren't permanent, meaning it wouldn't prevent you from going to back OEM.

A Super C with a 3point can be useful. It has a standard spline 540RPM PTO. I've seen people use Bush Hogs and other small 3pt implements. About 20HP at the drawbar and 23HP at the PTO.

It is also very common for people to mistakenly call a fast hitch a 3pt hitch, and vice versa. Not everyone is an expert, even of what they own. It could have one or the other. The closest it will come to having both is if it is a fast hitch with a set of 3pt hitch adapter arms.

Do you have pictures of the rear of the tractor?

Will be doing a thorough walk-around and test drive next Sunday. Will get lots of pics then.

Take a draft bill of sale and cash. If you decide to purchase, be sure to list tractor serial number and implements included in the sale price.

Preferable, take the trailer and promptly haul off the tractor and all implements after bill of sale is filled out, signed, and payment made.
I have an excuse. CRS.
