There used to be several International 404s in my neighborhood when I was growing up in the late 70s and 80s. I had a great-uncle who actively row crop farmed with his until the late 90s. Anyhow I've always had a 404 on my collector tractor bucket list. I grew up on a 424, which is very, very similar. The 424 gas is British built from the flywheel back, they then sent the chassis to Louisville where engine, front axle, and tin was added. The 404 was all-US built. The 404 looks a little lighter but had the same HP, without power steering it handles MUCH better than a 424 without power steering.
This one is a 1962. It needs front wheel weights and power adjust rear wheels and it'll look just like the ones I remember growing up!

Nice, I like the 404 also. I have the Farmall version.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Funny how that stuff will stick with you.
The uncle I farmed with in the '70s and '80s did most of his work with a 986. I loved it when I got to operate that tractor. I'd like to have one but it would be completely impractical for my use. I'm constantly on the lookout for a properly equipped 184 because it's styled like the 86 series but is more appropriately sized for my needs.
If I ever come across the right 184 both my Cub and Speedex will need new homes.

Budgetary concerns....
Plus I have two (fairly) full functioning Super As and maybe one more coming online. I think I cranked the Cub maybe twice the entire summer.

Three point.
The 404 and 504 were the first IH tractors with honest to goodness draft controlled three point hitches.

I am with you, I really like the '04's...I have the Hi-Clear so it rides up high and you are right...the 3 points are awesome.
