Final under dash wiring

Just wired up the dash on my 340. Worked out a technique to hold the dash in place yet providing access while routing the cables, harnesses, and making final tie-ins. I could start it up and test everything before fixing the dash in place, in case something was wired wrong. Then, it was easy to drop the dash into place once it was ready. Maybe this may help someone else doing the same.

Looks like that is going to be a super-fine 340 when you finish. Nice job!

Thanks

These projects seem to go on forever, but I suppose it's all the little things you have to work out that makes it fun.

I know this is an old thread, But I'd like to see some more pictures if possible because I just saved an IH 240 from the scrap yard. It runs flawlessly but needs to be cleaned up and painted. It also needs a throwout bearing and a few other odds and ends like a battery box and original seat. I would love to see pictures of your restoration and like to know where you found parts such as a new tachometer and the like. Here are a few pictures of the one I just saved for your enjoyment. I am open to all comments as I know NOTHING about these tractors, except that the engine is the same as a 140 engine (which I know all about).

You may email me at ihfarmallrtr@gmail.com THANKS!!!

That's a good looking 240! And all of the sheet metal appears to be there. I'm also restoring a 240U, and currently it is apart for engine rebuild, and rear axle seal replacement. Be glad to talk with you about your 240. I built a stand to split the tractor, because the front and rear engine seals needed replacement. Unfortunately too many projects have this on hold for the moment.
