Lokking for serial # matches from mags.

I can try to look at my dads 1940 very early 1940 A. I am sure it is the orignal mag since he has had the tractor over 40 years.
where is the s/n located?

That would be good, I would like to know what the serial # on the mag is like H4 ###### And if it has a cable shut off or push pull switch.

Hey Mag Man ,

I have a H4 mag on the shelf I took it off a tractor that got scraped. Do you want the mag ser # any way?? Ido know the tractor was a H and had a push pull switch.

I have an aunt that has a 45 H with H4 mag. I'll get the number next tiME i AM THERE, BUT i CAN TELL YOU IT HAS A GROUND TYPE SWITCH, NOT CABLE.

yes my dads A has no electrical on it so it has the cable on the mag to shut it off.

I didn't get the number from the magneto, but H serial #533 was at the 2004 RPRU.

Mags were not matched to tractor serial numbers. Magnetos were numbered as they came off the assembly line. I located a H4 mag S/N 71X (cant remember the last number) a few years ago to use on my S/N FBH700 Farmall H....


The pic shown in this post of the early magneto kill assembly also shows part of the EARLY wiring harness arrangement used on the early Hs & Ms...
