Farmall Cub

this was an impulse buy. been keeping my eye out for one of these for a couple of years. i was browsing epay and spotted this one, 3/4 hour from my house... with 3 minutes left in the auction..


ordinarily, i don't put myself in a position of buying a 'pig in a poke' as they say, but i couldn't stop myself from hitting the bid button.

turns out, the tractor was pretty well barn kept, runs nicely, needing only brake work, and bushings for the fast hitch. The PO even had an extra 2 point drawbar he threw in when i arrived.

need rear wheel weights, if anyone knows of any. special for the utility tractor with 24 inch wheels

The original weights for that tractor are split weights. But weights from a Farmall A will bolt on.

Is that a 240 utility? Looks like one. Great tractor . . . I have a 340 U. Would enjoy seeing more photos of it. I had no problem finding wheel weights . . . . same on both tractors. Good luck with it!

yup its a 240 utility. A Super C, or 200, in utility form.
Jim, i was going to try some A weights, but with your tip i don't need to try, just install. A weights are easy to find.

that fact (and i'm sure it was common knowlege in the farming community) probably makes the split weights that are 'factory original' really hard to find.

Farmall 'A' weights fit perfectly one problem solved.

David, the w6 has been completed for some time. it's a great tractor for our haywagon duty. i'm still looking for rear weights for it, closest i've found is Missouri.

I have a 240 I mow my yard with they are nice tractors. I have a set of front weights for one if you need some. Thanks Brandon.

Art, do the W6s use the same weights as a W4? If so we have some of those.

w4 weights are different, much larger.

partsman, do you have a second set for the W4? i'm told they are different from the first set.

Brandon, if we can figure out how to move them (240 front weights), we can make a deal. They are for a 16 inch rim, right? i wonder what else might fit? Jim?

I don't have a W-4 Parts Catalog, so can't speak to the question on those weights. The books usually have a part number for a weight ATTACHMENT which includes hardware. So for most models there are different part numbers for first and second weights even though the weight itself is the same. That is the way the W-6 is.

The regular front wheel weights for the 240 are the same as 140-560 and probably others with a disc wheel and 4 bolt holes for the weights.

I would like to find on or two of the second bolster weight that fits mostly the same models. (371 389 R1). I did see a few at RPR last summer, but the sellers all thought considerably more of them than I did. Most if not all of them were sold by the end of the week.

Our W4 has a double set of weights, and the second set is different than the first, but they may be after-market, I don't recall seeing an IH casting number on them.
The extra weights we have would be the standard first set.
