IH Power Unit Need Help Identifying

I believe this is a A power unit. The serial number is 1Y69 53965 Can anyone help me really identify this?

Ron,

That's a Continental power unit from an early combine before the Cub power unit became available.

I belive my cousin has two of them sitting in what used to be my Great Uncle Augg's barn. I was looking at it over christmass weekend and wondering what make is was.

That there is the engine the Cub SHOULD have had! :D

I have a 52R combine with that engine. It is the easiest engine to crank start I have ever been around. (Though my Cub-powered combine starts good once I learned the "combination."

I see yours has the correct choke rod. Mine is missing. :( How much difference is there between that and the starter rod on a Cub? I have an extra one I have thought about using for the choke if it's "close."

I didn't buy this one I was just looking and trying to make sure I knew what it was before I got serious....didn't happen. It was on E-bay and may still be. $150
